В буддизме Чистой Земли термин shingyo очень важен. Момент веры и радости (shingyo)

In Pure Land Buddhism, the term shingyo is very important. Master Shinran mentions this term numerous times in his writings. Perhaps it sounds familiar with some of you. With ideographs, it is 信楽. This term comes from Amida Buddha’s 18th Vow, which is written in the Larger Sutra of Immeasurable Life. Amida Buddha’s Vow is a promise that he made with all sentient beings in the cosmos. Although there are 48 Vows, when Pure Land Buddhists talk about Amida Buddha’s Vow, in most cases, it means the 18th Vow. (Let me give more explanation on this in the future.)

    Amida Buddha promised to save us into the state of shingyo. Attaining shingyo is the goal of Pure Land Buddhism. In regard to his own experience, Master Shinran wrote this hymn:

Because of the Vow that Amida Buddha pledged his life for,

The moment of faith and joy ( shingyo) will surely come.
Those who attain Great Joy in a split second of ichinen
Will have their birth settled  

Ichinen is also one of the most important terms in Pure Land Buddhism. So I will take time to give more explanation in the future. In short, it means the shortest unit of time.

Here shingyo means, in a nutshell, ‘absolute peace of mind and satisfaction’. So the synopsis is this:

Because Amida Buddha staked his life and pledged to save us into shingyo, the time will come for sure for us to attain ‘absolute peace of mind and satisfaction’ in an instantaneous moment of ichinen. And those of us will be filled with the great joy of life, and have the settlement of birth in the Pure Land. (It is confirmed that those people will surely go to the Pure Land after they die.) http://trk163.bmeurl.co/
